About This Project

Another product from a quick source of inspiration I saw this pole while queuing up for Record Store Day 2017.

It struck me and I felt emotional valence where this rusted stick was stuck in the ground. There was something sinister and provoking about it and wanted to capture this through digital manipulation; making it desolate and dark as if would be in a post-apocalyptic world.

I centred it to give a monolithic sense of meaning and strength with almost religious connotations. At first, I highlighted the very top padlock red but actually thought a softer teal made the whole thing that more impactful and real.

This piece was accomplished with purely Photoshop work using numerous blending options, various brushes, gradients, and of course, endless parameter shifts to bring us to the end result.
